Kyoo 33

I have come to realize, after talking with a grand friend, that guys are the same everywhere and there's not much we can do about it. I'm OK with that and am in a sadistically good mood. That's all I'll say about that. But I'm so happy for this friend!

This weekend was stupendous! But, alas, I have left my grandmother's house (AGAIN) without all of my possessions. At least this time I remembered my wallet. I think...............

............yes, I have my wallet. But my dress is there. It will be an occasion to be celebrated when I return home without leaving an essential piece abandoned.

At least Harold is here and me and Hasina are alive and well after a weekend of mountain biking and hiking! I could get used to weekends like that. Out in the hills, endless trails, waterfalls, descents, ascents, rocks to climb, bikes, the cabin, fire, wildlife, and euphoria as you lie in the back of a truck and watch the sun set and the forest and hills whiz by. I just love getting out and being outside. Those are some of my happiest, peaceful moments when I can just sit in a beautiful setting and think.

Which makes me questions my major. But that's a whole different struggle.

Have a great day :)

I saw him twice today.

The first time he didn't see me because I was in a stealth position while he was in a stealth-ed position.

But the second time, he said hi and I'm sure he would have talked to me but I was on the phone.

I sound like a stalker. But I'm not.

I spent a total of 6 hours taking tests (that doesn't count studying) these past two days and this little crush seems a lot more exciting than that. So I elaborate.

I better stop. Me and Hasina are hosting a massive game of fugitive and my sisters are on their way from home.

It's the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day :)

I have a BIG crush on an eligible young gentleman.

Okay, a few eligible young gentlemen, but one in particular.

He's nice, handsome, athletic, yada, yada, yada......

......and I IGNORED him today!

It's not the first time. It seems like every time I see him I get so nervous and pretend like I don't see him! AHhhhhhhhhhhhh, I feel like such a little girl.

I need to get over this because he's going to think I hate him, which is quite the opposite. Next time I see him, I am GOING to talk to him. And not pee my pants. Wish me luck!

I swear I'm not twelve.

Have a great day :)

I was looking for a new profile pic for facebook and came across some photos most will enjoy. Especially Snickers and Special K since most of them are from last semester.

The freezer after Albertson's icecream sale. Too bad it lasted less than a week.......

My birthday package! The best part was the gummy vitamins, and the silly putty, and the noise putty, and the gum, and the quarters, and the nuts, .......okay, it was all good!

Harold! I actually should post the picture of Travis and Tyler hanging it from the ceiling but I don't thinkI have that picture...Snickers?

I probably shouldn't post this but it was on the back of a truck and I thought it was funny.

Rosemary! A tribute to Special K who can "dress" a turkey better than anyone I know.

Remnants of the ice storm that made getting home for Christmas extra fun!

And that should be enough for now. Oh, I broke my sunglasses climbing at the buttes on Friday night and was really sad. But then, I went to Wal-mart to buy a new pair and found the exact same pair on clearance for $5! I was so happy I did a dance in the aisle.

Seriously, ask my sidekick, Bokwisha. And if you have any ideas on what our names could be, comment. Me and my sidekick are a dynamic duo and need an appropriate title.

Have a great day :)

I got another rousing reminder of just where I am located.

First, I must describe the situation. Me, Bokwisha (formerly Hasina), Shanaenae, and Lakwisha (all roommates) went to have some fun climbing the butte west of town. Me and Bokwisha hiked in front and had an enjoyable time climbing around on the rocks and watching "The Emperor's New Groove" on a little ledge overlooking the valley. The best part of the evening was watching Shanaenae and Lakwisha hike down early by themselves and take a wrong turn that added 2-3 extra miles to their course. We could just barely see them from the top but couldn't tell them. It took them about 45 minutes to get down while me and Bokwisha ran down in less than 12. It made me want to do an adventure race.

Anyways, back to business. After climbing the butte, we decided the night was still young and stopped at Beaverdick park on our way back into town. After jumping into the river and swimming around for a bit, we caught sight of a HUGE bonfire and decided to join the group and dry off. Little did we realize that the cops were there fining the young pyrotechnic. A few seconds later a firetruck shows up to extinguish the blaze. They were nice enough to give him the honors though.

But honestly, calling a firetruck and crew of 5 firefighters to extinguish a bonfire? It must have been a really slow night at the station because the bonfire was big, but not THAT big. It's just funny to me: ticketing people for jay-walking to church, calling the fire department to extinguish a blaze in a fire-approved area, etc. I really do love this town!

It was a great night filled with memories. I like making my own fun!

Have a great day :)

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day. I'm trying to get all of my studying done early so I can go play all night outside. Which is why I'm blogging.....

Sunday was perfect. I got to sit in the beautiful Garden of Eden and stare off into the distance with my grandma while contemplating just how many llamas were on the horizon. The scene played as one you might expect to see in movies such as "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Nacho Libre". Imagine us sitting on the grass with big bowls of popcorn in our laps having the following to say:

Kyooyoo: "Whoa, you have llamas as neighbors!"

Grams: "Yes, they've been there a while. Don't you remember?"

Kyooyoo: "No." (short pause) "I only see one llama, weren't there two?"

Grams: "It looks like there might be one behind that one. His backside looks funny."

Kyooyoo: "I think he just has a funny backside. Like a hair pouf."

Grams: "Maybe he'll move. Then we can tell."

***Contemplative silence***

Grams: "You know, there is one sure way of finding out...."

Kyooyoo: "I'm not crossing that field, there could be snakes."

***More contemplative silence***

Kyooyoo: "What about that lump over there? I think that's the head of the other llama."

Grams: "You'd think you'd be able to see more of it though."

***Even more contemplative silence coupled with intense staring***

Kyooyoo: "I think it just moved."

Grams: "It is a little breezy out here."

Kyooyoo: "I swear that's the other llama."

Grams: "Speaking of llamas, do you want to cut down that branch for me?"

***This statement followed by Kyooyoo perched on the verge of death (aka ladder on a slope) trying to swing a rake to remove said branch, which had nothing to do with the llamas***

Just imagine it.

And then imagine me discovering my uvula during the drive home. What a weird little piece of flesh! I've decided that it's a good thing that we can't feel them.

Okay, it's back to work. Outside is calling my name.

Have a great day :)

Splendid.

That describes my day.

* Minor interruption * For interested parties, this is my 27th post to this blog. That so happens to be my favorite number for various reasons. I should write an ode' to the number 27 but I have so many other things to post on. However, this guy seems to share my fascination with this number and has already put my thoughts into words. Check it out and read on.

I finally got to use my picnic basket with my grandma. We sat behind a rock wall by the rim of the Snake River Canyon and ate peanut butter and honey sandwiches, pickled beets, and chips and salsa. It was surprisingly tasty and refreshing.

Except that the wind blows hard and the bridge movies. I won't even describe the horror stories she told me about the bridge that spans that canyon. I try to keep these posts light and funny.

I took the color personality test today. It took a bit of time but was fun in the end. My personality screams RED. Don't let that scare you. I try to overcome the flaws entailed with this personality color. You should take the test though. It lends itself to being a great conversation starter:

"So, what's your personality color?" (I'm thinking cheesy pickup lines)

"Oh, you're a blue. I'm sorry. This will never work. Blue and red make purple and I just don't know how I feel about that color. You have a great smile though."

Another update: Amazon now sells groceries online. If only the prices weren't so dang high. I will admit though, I was mildly sickened, yet strangely humored by this available item. Make sure you view the pictures and read the comments at the bottom - they're hilarious.

What else? I bought a really cute dress today. (* sigh *) Isn't that precious? Actually, I don't feel like typing about my purchases. Those of you who are lucky enough to see my often will get to view them in all their splendor eventually so I will grace you with those facts then.

I cleaned my school email so I'm not getting "inbox overload" messages every two hours. That feels good. And, I love driving by myself because it gives me a chance to enjoy the beautiful world around me and sing really loud to my music.

Alone time is good.

Have a great day :)

Just for fun. This is my new favorite song. You should check it out. And learn the words. And sing them incessantly to all innocent bystanders. While smiling.

Enjoy!

I'm going to bed now. No more posts today.

Have a great day :)

Kyoo 25

Last weekend was almost magical. A blur, but magical just the same. I love going home and this trip was no exception. The drive brought back memories of family trips to Idaho in the summer. I've discovered that I have random sites that I look for during the 900 mile drive:
  • The Spud Drive-Inn, complete with semi-truck size potato
  • The Christmas moose
  • The on-ramp to I-80 in Rock Springs
  • The Lincoln statue between Laramie and Cheyenne
  • The tree growing straight out of a rock
  • The TA outside of Cheyenne were gas is always about $0.25 cheaper than anywhere else.
  • The boring green "Welcome to Nebraska" sign
  • Exit 36 where Babar broke down once
  • The cut-out of a wolf howling on a butte
  • Cabela's and the duck pond
  • Girl's camp site just outside of Lexington
  • The Archway by Kearney
  • The Shelton exit where I could get off and take the back roads home
  • Exit 314 where I say good-bye to I-80
Yes, I know, this is boring but it's nostalgic. I love spending time with my family and just being able to cuddle up with the younger ones and wake up with them right next to me in the morning. I love seeing Shadrick, my dog, and sitting in the front yard eating breakfast and watching the sunrise.

Now that I'm gone, Nebraska brings back good memories. Everything is so open and free. When the wind isn't blowing, it's peaceful and you can just get away in a matter of minutes and feel like you're one of the only people on the planet. I like being outside in the summer.

Okay, I'm done. I didn't take any pictures because it was a very short trip and was action-packed. Between the picnics, library, bike rides, catch, exploring, Chinese buffet, fishing, playing at the park, jamming in the car, playing sardines, staying up late, talking to a really nice young man, and of course, driving, it was the perfect weekend. I want to do it over again.

I must move on though and conquer this semester. I'm making good progress. I went dancing last night and learned a little swing and country. I do need practice though.

And, I want dates. I only have one so far.

Have a great day :)

"Just A Spoonful Of Sugar" is telling me to go home from the library right now. I would be annoyed but it has such a cool horn part.

I went to Nebraska this past weekend and had an amazing time. More details later. The guard is giving me his angry eyes.....

Have a great day :)
