Life is good if anyone is wondering. My sister's volleyball team is having a trash-kicking season and it's been so much fun following them. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but state would be a really cool thing for them. So, in light of that:

Good game sis! I heard you had some great digs!

I got to hang with Steffer today and it felt so good. I haven't really talked to her for a few months and it was so fun to get swept away in her stories and jumpy personality.

Oh, I was sad last Sunday. The sidewalk I patter across on my way to class has little strawberry plants growing on the side and there was one I've been eying since day one. That is, until someone else stole it! I liked that little guy.

I saw two helicopters flying around campus today and it made me sad that for the second semester in a row I couldn't fit my military class in. One day, that will be me flying in those helicopters.

El Gregory drove past me the other day and almost didn't say hi. He heard about that.

It's the weekend tomorrow and that makes me quite content.

Have a great day :)

You know when you walk around and the sun is shining on your face and you feel good and everything seems right in the world and you don't have a care and everything just seems to be going swell?

I've realized that I only recognize those moments when I'm not feeling like that and I want to be. Like right now as I sit in the lab with 4 big deadlines looming closer every minute. I'm at 4 hours and 6 minutes now.

Just kidding, now it's 5 minutes.

Have a great day :)

I finished my first marathon!

It wasn't quite as satisfying as I'd hoped it to be because I had to walk a little at miles 23 and 24 but I'm a lot more pleased now than I was when I finished. There is definitely room for improvement. I'm hooked though and will be running more soon!

I will admit that it was tougher than I thought it was going to be. The first 13 miles just fly by and then the last 13 just increase in distance exponentially with each mile. I can't remember them but I do remember that I just kept telling my brain not to think and to keep running. I normally analyze how much further I have to go but all of my senses were so warped by then that I wasn't thinking straight and I just had to shut the whole mental factor down. Running that far is a mental struggle!

All in all, it was a fun weekend with Sidekick! We got to sit in a freezing cold creek to relax our muscles, sleep in a parking lot, walk around like we were nine months pregnant and had just got beat up, check out some cool outdoor stores, and eat a ton after our bodies finally realized that we'd spent 4.5 hours running and had depleted necessary stores (this realization took a few hours to come by).

I feel very accomplished yet there is still a burning flame yearning for more!

And I'm walking normal again. Sunday and Monday were both a trip.

Classes are swell, especially Systems Security. I'm really liking my major. Lots of new opportunities are presenting themselves and I'm excited for the future! It's not entirely comfortable but I'm confident I'll adjust. It's great to be back with Snickers! We've already had some crazy times and I'm looking forward to more!

Time for bed though, I've got an early training session tomorrow morning...

Have a great day :)

My favorite spot is at my grams's house under her apricot tree. In the evening, on a sunny day, I can just lie there and experience complete relaxation; like all is right in the world. The sun makes me feel golden as it shines on my face. The ditch gurgles relaxingly nearby. The green grass spreads in every direction like a glorious shag carpet (the 70s were good for something). The flower and vegetable gardens stand foreground to a brilliant landscape that plays for miles. I feel like I can see everything in this spot, but no one can see me. I love it.

I also like watching home videos. Dad, let's just say I like you with short hair. I did miss you for a few minutes today when a video showing Don came up and your voice was heard in the background lecturing him on the difference between soil engineering (or something) and microbiology. And then your countless impressions of "Ranae" and how she held the camera. I was also rather amused when they gave you the camera at Marcee's wedding. You seemed much more interested in the "beautiful lady" standing right in front of you than Marcee. If mom had known you were filming her that whole time.......hahaha. I love you dad.

And Morgie. I'm pretty sure she doesn't read this but it sure was funny to watch the both of us together when she was just a toddler. And boy did I have long hair! I knew how to work it too. A few of those shots would have made the Herbal Essences commercials seem like cartoons. Why do I keep my hair short now?

It's amazing how many memories come flooding back when watching home videos. I'm going to have to remember that and keep one handy when I have kids growing up.

Oh boy, I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. I have to travel, and move, and meet lots of new people, and be friendly. It might just be too much to handle.

Have a great day :)

I've been trying to settle back into life after the Josh Groban concert. It was really that good. I woke up the next morning and had to look at my pictures to remind myself that it wasn't just a dream. Definitely the best concert I've ever been to. The whole night was just so much fun, plus Stephanie and her family were there!

I was even in line to meet him at his bus after the show and waited for a while but he didn't get out. He just stood at the door and waved. It was kind of sad because I really would have liked to meet him but he did have quite the travel itinerary for the next couple days so I'll give him that.

Just to share a little of the experience with y'all:

and...

Among my favorite gifts given to him by fans were the "Josh in a Box" and a ginormous sombrero crafted with a jack-o-lantern face on the front and little pumpkins hanging down all around the rim. You saw part of his reaction to the "Josh in a Box" on the YouTube video.

He really is quite hilarious. I hope to attend another concert again. Next time, I'll be rich enough to buy front and center tickets. Although I can't complain, our seats weren't bad.

Have a great day :)
