Kyoo 62

I am:
  • patiently waiting for my new computer to come in the mail.
  • really sleepy and tired.
  • elated for hiking at Weber Creek this weekend.
  • busily working on a website idea in my free time.
  • trying to find winter housing.
  • getting sick of the monopoly that is single student housing here.
  • thinking I need to leave this lab and get some sleep.
  • happy the weather was so beautiful this week.
  • getting really dry eyes.
  • anticipating my trip to San Antonio.
  • saving more of my money.
  • finding the best in a really screwy situation.
  • glad my database lab wasn't due today.
  • wanting to buy a skin suit and crawl around in the tunnels under campus before popping up through one of the grates.
  • smelling chlorine.
  • hoping you............
Have a great day :)

Kyoo 61

I forgot to mention that the weather was perfect yesterday and today. Gorgeous clear blue skies, warmer temperatures, hardly any wind. I couldn't sit in the lab, I had to get out.

And get out I did. Sidekick and I went and ran the buttes. The best part though was pausing to spend some contemplative silent time (aka meditation) just enjoying the sun splashed across my face, the valley lying below, and the slight breeze that whispered. There are comparatively few moments like that in life and it's so important to grasp them and just hang on while you can. I live for those moments when I can reflect and really be myself.

And it just might be worth it to hold onto a friendship or two.

Have a great day :)

re•nounce - to put aside voluntarily; especially by a formal declaration.

Consider this my declaration.

That is all.

If anyone's planning on being in Denver on November 5th or 6th, you should come hang at the airport with me. I'll be there for over 5 hours due to layovers. It will all be worth it though to spend a couple days in the warmth of San Antonio. This is my first "business trip" and I have to say that I'm characteristically excited (what am I not excited about?). It will be an adventure and a chance for growth.

And hopefully a chance to gain a lot of great experience next summer. I feel that I have big decisions to make in the next few months.

Life is like investments. If something you're investing in isn't paying back, you move your money elsewhere to increase returns. I'm simply applying this practice in my life and it's working.

I'm not quitting. It's smart business.

Now that I've jumped all over the board and back again with this post, I'll leave most of you to stew in stupor. Happy Kyoo 60!

and.....

Have a great day :)

It's hard to keep this thing updated when I don't have a computer I can rely on. Anywho, I've been working on that one and have it narrowed down to two models that I now need to choose from. All I will say is that they're vastly different but similarly priced.

I'm climbing Mt. Borah tomorrow. Should be fun. I still need to go shopping for some good cold weather running and trail gear but I haven't had time yet and now I'm waiting for my next paycheck so I have enough money. I also competed in a mountain bike race last Saturday. I'm trying to break up the monotony of Saturday long runs by doing some cross-training. I still need to find a marathon to work towards though so if you have any ideas send them this way.

Funny story. I had my PL/SQL book sitting on the computer in the library and some guy comes up to me and asks me if I'm taking that class. My book is about 3 inches thick and it's a programming book for crying out loud! No, just a bit of light reading, I'm not in the class. Chalk another one up for intimidating the boys.

I'm starting to look at internships for the summer. So far I have interviews with USAA in San Antonio at the beginning of November and Children's Hospital in Minneapolis at an unknown date. I'm excited about both of them so we'll see where they take me.

I went to a haunted house on Monday and hated it. There was a place where I had to walk over snakes and they had them all rigged up so they'd move and strike unexpectedly. It was horrible. And it ticked me off when my FHE brother refused to carry me across them. Pansy brother.

Anywho, that's about it for now. Winter is coming. Midterms are just around the corner, and life flies.

Have a great day :)

I'm late for class. I thought I had time but I don't.

Have a great day :)

I think all of my computer problems have stemmed from my operating system. I'm running Linux right now and it's working like a charm. Granted, there are things I need to get used to and lots of programs to install but it's actually booting! I tried to clear my hard drive and completely re-install Windows but it still gave me a stop error after an hour or two of running it. I really hate that blue screen.

This whole "computer problems" thing has been really educational. I've learned a lot and have been able to practice my computer problem solving skills. They still need work but I find comfort in the fact that I have come a long ways for only being in this nerd major for a year.

For those of you wondering, I still don't have any love interests for the semester. There is one boy I have my eye on but I'm not saying anything. I really have no confidence in the dating world right now because I'm starting to realize that no one every returns the interest. It's just safer for me not to enter the dating world and to stay locked up in the Smith computer labs working on projects. It's my comfort zone.

Call me a pansy.

It's too bad I couldn't ever really be happy in life not being married. I still think a dog would make the perfect companion. I want to rescue a dog from the pound, name it Moose, and have my own little buddy. If only I could get my own apartment or rent a house that would allow dogs. The only thing I'd ever have to worry about would be cleaning up poop every now and then. Pshaw.

Oh, and I should find out next week about my internship opportunity in San Antonio. It would be so cool to get flown down there on a "business trip". I'd feel pretty important. Nothing like another feast for this ballooning ego of mine. I think I need to start reminiscing the Hindenburg and not let something similar happen to me.

Well, it's time for me to rejuvenate my sleepage stores.

Have a great day :)
