Kyoo 134

The weather isn't perfect here but I'm not complaining. Highlights from yesterday:

Fishies at the International Market Place in downtown Honolulu. Lots of good shopping.

Panda Express in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Yum.

Waikiki Beach! It's pretty and the water is nice. Took a fun little swim and then had a hard time drying off because there was no wind and it was getting late. Sidekick and I also went to the swimming beach just down from where we're staying and soaked up some sun there (through the clouds). We were basically in one of Oprah's backyards. And it's rumored that Obama will stay there when he's here next week.

Downtown Honolulu at night.

Waiting forever at the wrong bus stop. We eventually figured out that the first bus let us off two blocks away from where we were supposed to be and got home but it took a while. Public transportation is always an experience.

Have a great day :)

Aloha!

Graduation was awesome and being able to speak was the best opportunity. I tried to avoid it but now I'm really glad that I walked. So, I'm not a student anymore and it hasn't really hit yet. I have to be a real adult!

Ugh.

But, I'm in Hawaii now. So I guess life isn't that bad. I always forget to put these pictures in the right order but here's a little recap of my and Sidekick's day yesterday:

This is one of Oprah's houses. We're staying just down the street from it. There's also some actor's house right next to it who plays on Lost! but I forgot his name.

Jenn driving us from the airport.

We got a lei greeting at the airport! Jenn made these herself and they smelled amazing.

Sidekick waiting for luggage. I love the little Christmas tree. It's Hawaii so obviously it's really warm and there's no snow so it's weird for me to see random Christmas decorations and fake snowmen all over the place. It seems lost.

One of the gardens in the Honolulu airport. I look a little deranged in this picture but I'm just excited.

The longest flight of my life. I know it doesn't compare to people flying to Europe and such but 6 1/2 hours was long enough for me. My computer battery did very well though. And I got to finally read lots of my Runner's World and Bicycling magazines.

What we left! Snow and frozen ground.

And this is Harold's first trip to the airport and getting through security. He made it just fine and there weren't any questions. I guess I wasn't the first person to ever walk through the Salt Lake airport carrying a giant fish. Ha!

Have a a great day :)

I graduate in 2 days!

I'm excited but it hasn't quite hit me yet. I really just want to finish my last two finals so I can focus on enjoying my limited time in Rexburg with my friends and also run all the errands that have been piling up on my To Do list.

I finished all of my homework and big papers/projects by pulling an all-nighter last night. I have to do it at least one a semester. After feeling the effects of this one though I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon.

I can't focus on anything and I'm shaking. Not ideal for giving a presentation in a couple minutes.

But, I'm excited for Hawaii next week, spending Christmas in Idaho with my family, and moving down to Texas. It's going to be an exciting month!

Another random note, I actually made a decent amount of money on book buybacks this year and still have a few more books that I'm supposed to get money for. I'm hoping the bookstore hasn't met their "quota" and will still buy my book for full price tomorrow.

Fingers crossed.

Oh yes, and my graduation speech is all but perfected and I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed in January.

And I get to see my dad tomorrow.

Have a great day :)
