Blog: "Wow! Can you believe it? She finally updated me!"

Visitor: "I'm in shock!"

Blog: "I know. I was getting bored sporting her personality post."

Visitor: "Amen. As if I don't already know that she's competitive and lacks a love life."

Blog: "Yes, we're all very aware of that. Maybe she'll snap out of it one day and become approachable. Until then, she's still using me to prove that she has a life. Look! She even posted pictures!"

Begin post.

Natalie MacMaster! I am a fan of fiddle music. Especially her fiddle music. It just makes me want to dance. My mom came to visit me for a weekend and, despite the less-than-welcome Rexburg weather (I had to scrap my car for the first time this year), I think we had a good time. Front and center tickets to the Natalie MacMaster concert were just part of the agenda. I was also able to serve up a tasty stew and impress her with my bread-baking abilities. A special thanks to Grameez for the mad recipe.

While the cabin is no longer owned by anyone I'm related to, I did get to spend a couple relaxing weekends there before it was sold. Snickers and Sidekick joined me for a relaxing conference weekend where we gathered around the radio and listened to the broadcasts old-school style. A couple weekends later, Sidekick and I went back for one last weekend of hiking the hills and sleeping away from Internet access and cell phone reception. It was so nice and the weather was perfect the second go-round. Grameez and Grandpa even joined us for dinner one evening where Sidekick and I served up our Dutch oven cooking.

So yummy.

Grandpa let my drive his truck to the cabin last weekend when Sidekick and I went and it was the coolest! It felt a lot more appropriate than my car. And the radio station was rockin' the oldies. I was not complaining. Especially when I saw the conditions of the road to the cabin. Go 4-wheel drive.

Many weekends ago Steffer came up from Provo and we had some fun times in the outdoors. We started with a canoe trip. It was the canoe trip that never ended. Yes it went on and on my friends. For real. We put in and four hours later started getting worried when the end-point still wasn't in sight and it was getting really dark and cold. But, alas, there were two beams piercing the night up ahead and we realized we had reached the final bridge. It was joyous to get back in the car and blast the heat. We were all freezing but the story was well worth it.

I should upload the video for this one. Steffer and Elizabeth got caught with only one paddle and had to "walk" there canoe back to the main river. It was hilarious. Steffer didn't want to get wet so eventually the scene portrayed Elizabeth swimming upstream with the canoe rope in her mouth and Steffer way downstream, holding her shorts up and yelling about the temperature (nigh frigid) of the water. Classic.

My new car! It looked so attractive with the canoe on top. I felt very cool. And if you have any ideas for names, please send them my way. I think this one's a girl so keep that in mind.

The very next day we summitted Borah Peak (12,662 feet) which is the tallest peak in Idaho. It was a really long day and the hardest part was definitely coming down. Never again will I attempt that without trekking poles. But, I got a great group to go consisting of me, Sidekick, Steffer, Steffer's friend Clint, and Joelle, a kickin-sweet teacher from the MesoAmerica tour. We all crammed into my car, uh, very early, hiked all day, and cramped up in the car on the ride home. There may or may not have been a brief stop heralded by flashing blue and red lights. But if there was, I did not get a ticket.

This is Sidekick and me pointing at the summit. At this point, we were about 1/3 of the way up. It still looks so far....

Steffer and I looking down on all of Idaho!

And me sporting the conquer. This was after my nap at the top.

I just realized that I haven't uploaded my pictures from this last weekend but Sidekick and I did a 12-mile hike from Black Canyon to Big Burns just southeast of town here. Beautiful. Except for the 15+ creek fordings. My feet were very cold.

What will we do next?!?!?!?!

Muahahaha, I have plans.

Have a great day :)

I had to take a personality assessment for my Conflict Management class. This particular one told me that I'm an ENTJ. I think it's quite accurate. Natural tendency to marshall and direct. Makes lots of plans. Larger than life when describing things. Decisive. My favorite was the trademark: "I'm really sorry you have to die."

I really am sorry.

To enjoy the description in full: ENTJ Profile

As for my romantic life, I can't even sum this one up (article found here). Enjoy!

"Rational women tend to be late bloomers on the dating scene. They are sometimes unaware of or don’t wish to follow cultural norms which dictate what is considered feminine. As they get older, men often appreciate their logic and general lack of emotional outbursts, along with the fact that Rational women tend to clearly state what they think and want."

Hmmmmm, I don't know what they're talking about (turns sheepishly to the side)...but there's more.

"Cammy is a Rational Fieldmarshal (ENTJ). In high school, she had lots of friends but few dates. In college, she found it easier to find dates. Her friends told her she was bossy and intimidating. It frustrated her that what worked well in her career wasn’t good in romance. Then she met a man who actively pursued her. At first she wasn’t interested because she thought he was a light weight. As she got to know him, she valued his ability to understand her thinking and bring out her sentimental side."

I feel as though I can relate to 95% of that description. But, considering that I'm 10 weeks shy of my college degree, it's probably safe to say that I'm an even later bloomer. My college dating life was not much of an improvement from high school. I've still had a blast though!

As for famous people, I share ENTJ with the following:

  • Steve Jobs
  • Jim Carrey
  • Harrison Ford
  • Whoopi Goldberg
  • Steve Martin
  • Al Gore
  • David Letterman
  • Lee Aspen
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt
  • Richard M. Nixon
  • Newt Gingrich
  • Benny Goodman
  • Margaret Thatcher
  • Candice Bergen
Interesting. The shared company isn't all bad but I think I'll make a name for myself, thanks. Overall, I found the results quite fascinating. Mostly because they seemed very accurate. And they confirmed my career choices. All quite fitting. I want to lead.

Now to continue developing appropriate leadership qualities....and maybe attract a guy who can understand my thinking and bring out my sentimental side. I'd better start formulating a plan!

Have a great day :)
