Kyoo 161

Some of my roommates and I went down to the beach (aka National Seashore Padre Island) and did some camping a couple weekends ago with some guys from church. We pulled right up to the waves, parked our cars, and set up camp. "Camp" included our big trampoline. In two words: it rocked.

We slept on it and watched the waves come up right underneath us. The weather was perfect and we could see millions of stars. It was amazing to just listen to the ocean and feel the light breeze. Surreal. The sunrise was like a painting. I want to go to the beach every weekend! It probably won't happen, but I do have a years pass to that spot. And I'm not afraid to use it.

I ate crab legs for the first time, even though they look like they're eating me in the picture. I think they'd be a pretty effective diet food because I'm sure I burned way more calories than I consumed trying to get to that meat. But it was so much fun!

Turtle! Turtle! (I hope y'all got the movie reference so you know how to say that). Anyways, I got to watch little baby turtles make their long journey through the sand to the surf. They were so cute! And quite protected by the park rangers. It was my first time seeing this live instead of via the Discovery channel and it was pretty fascinating.

I went shopping at one of the outlet malls outside of town here and had quite a successful day. The boys wanted me to model my new clothes one at a time but I just felt awkward about that. We compromised and I put them all on at the same time. I was much more comfortable with that. So here's me with ten shirts on and Brad giving me advice on how to wear the last one and me again holding numerous pairs of pants and practicing "The Magnum".

I've been working a LOT lately and love it! I'm on a new project that's stretching me professionally and keeping me very engaged. And I can't complain when I still get paid for all those overtime hours!

Outside of work I'm still staying busy. Swing dance lessons in Austin once a week. Occasionally more dancing on other nights of the week. Institute. Fulfilling my new calling on the ward activities committee. Swimming. Big trampoline. Boys. Yes, I'm going on dates. And much spontaneity and time with friends.

To sum it up: Life is Good.

Have a great day :)
