Yoo 295 - Snippets of a Sunday

Sometimes I wish every day could be Sunday.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the maturity milestone I have herein reached. As a kid, I was certain I would never love Sundays! They were filled with uncomfortable shoes and girly dresses and long hours of behaving at church.

But now. Oh now! Now they're everything I want my life to be and more!

I get to sleep in until the daylight peaks thru my curtains and gently wakes me. My mind instantly sets off, but soon is calmed. It's Sunday! There are no long runs or work meetings to prepare for. I can lay in bed and just enjoy quiet moments and listen to the birds chirping.

There are chirping birds outside my window!

I love my window. It's not the most scenic view. But the sunlight streams thru in the morning with its warm glow making the dust particles dance around, almost in a glimmer. I could sit there for hours, immersed in the Book of Mormon and a big bowl full of my favorite cereals, all mixed together and seemingly sizzling as they swim in the milk.

(sundays are my cereal days. specially reserved.)

It's all pretty wonderful. Unfortunately this wonderfulment usually comes to a screeching halt about the time I have to get ready for church.  The stress comes flying back in. Mostly because church is in the afternoon and I'm really good at procrastinating that shower until the very mostest last possible minute and then, well, you can imagine.

"I'm gonna be late!"

Story of my life.

But, after the rush, church is always a good thing and restores peace back to my day. As does making enchiladas with the Gregbeau (and eating a whole, fresh pineapple) and then going for an evening walk on my favorite path.

There were lilacs today. Lilacs! I caught a sweet, innocently floral whiff and bolted for the tree, dodging a few bees in the process. Oh it was glorious. I haven't smelled fresh lilacs in years! I will take requests if you want me to package some up and share them with you. I know not everyone gets lilacs in March...

Don't you wish every day could be filled with sunshine and cereal and lilac-infused walks and pineapple and quiet moments with your favorite people??

I love Sundays.

And I also love that my Gregilbert spent a good portion of the day gaining an appreciation for the freckled redhead that is Anne (with an 'e') Shirley. He giggled at her dramatically wordy outbursts and was emotionally torn to shreds at her every rejection of Mr. Gilbert Blythe.

(i may slightly be exaggerating but here i have that right).

It just about made my heart soar! (we love anne of green gables in these parts, thanks to the kyoo grameez).

But, as wistful as that all was, it's now back to work and other grindy things. Here's to employing Anne's imagination to make believe that that's something magical...

Have a great day :-)

Mountain laurel...not quite the same as lilacs, but still pretty good:)

They had me fooled! Thanks for the clarification. I was quite surprised to find them...the smell was still divine :)
