Yoo 705 - Zion NP and Ensign Peak

We finished our "sister's road trip thru southern Utah" adventures at Zion National Park. Though we mostly just drove thru the park and decided that we didn't want to deal with the crowds and wait for the shuttle to the more popular hikes. So we only did a couple short hikes to scenic overlooks before driving to the Kolob Canyons section of park and doing the Taylor Creek trail.

Really, we were looking for slot canyons in the area because we most wanted to spend another day squeezing our way thru the rocks but all of the ones we looked up sounded wet and it wasn't hot enough for that. The Taylor Creek trail was pretty and peaceful but not nearly as adventurous as others we'd done over the past week. I was dumb and a little grumps about this lack of excitement on our final day. It's a character flaw because the weather and hike and company were otherwise quite pristine.

Then it was back north to Salt Lake City, but not before we'd stopped for burritos at Cafe Rio in Cedar City.

Morgan's face, for scale.

Singing in the car. Probably to "Wrecking Ball". What Dylan is singing in that first picture we are left to wonder. And then the sunset killed me with pretty.

I spent that night on the couch in Dylan's college apartment. I might have also logged in to work to help clean up a few messes that had happened while I was away. Glutton for punishment! My flight out wasn't until the following afternoon so we had some time to kill in the morning. WinCo stop for chocolate-covered cinnamon bears! And a hike up Ensign Peak, because I've never done that. It was windy but pretty. We missed Morgan. She had to work, or something?

Then back to work and fixing all of the things. And seeing my dog and husband again! So grateful for time off to make memories with family and recharge for the onslaughts ahead!

Have a great day :-)
