...according to whoever had the kyoocamera at the time.
Getting married in an LDS temple makes wedding planning MILES easier. A simple phone call and the ceremony is all taken care of. And it's more beautiful and special than anything you could plan on your own. But then there's the reception.
I went back and forth for weeks and weeks: reception or no reception?
I didn't want to plan a reception. And I REALLY didn't want to pay for a reception. Or put a lot of time into DIY-type wedding projects to make it cheaper.
I did plenty of research and it just seemed like a lot of work for something that would be over in a couple hours. But would we feel like we were missing out without a reception?
In the end we decided that we'd do a simple, casual reception right after the temple. Not your typical BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, DREAM OF DREAMS wedding but a fun, goofy, Greg and Teagan get-together. It was still kind of a pain to plan but I'm glad we did it. There were sno-cones and rice crispy treats and chicken nuggets and a pinata. Non-traditional but memorable and filled with favorites.
Wedding eve was set up day. The family was a big help. And then the Gregdude almost missed a job interview. Can you believe it?? Fifteen minutes before the start, a reminder popped up on his phone and all panic broke loose. Your job inteview! But you're dressed in gym-clothes! And it's clear across town! And you don't have a car!
He borrowed the Caspercar which subsequently locked my family and me out of my house and forced us to eat at Pasha (the horror!). I told him to use his wedding the next day and a To-Do list tasked by BRIDEZILLA as excuses, and it sounds like it helped. They were impressed he showed up.
But still.
And then there was a frozen yogurt "bachelorette party". Wherein I ate frozen yogurt with sisters and a couple friends and did nothing particularly crazy. Except for discovering mini mochi and lychee juice balls and laughing like a hyena.
I was so tired and ready for bed after all that...no nervous insomnia the night before!
Have a great day :-)
