It's been a busy week. And I had a run-in with the police last night.
It was intense.
Furrowed lines were splashed across my face, frozen from hours of intense concentration. My hands and fingers were going strong in a marathon relay of keyboard-mouse-keyboard-scratch-keyboard-mouse-drink-keyboard. There was to be no stopping. I had three major projects all due within a few hours of each other the next day. Actually, by this time, it was the day. Thursday. Today. Craziness.
It was in this state of deepest focus and intent that the distant beeps of the lab's keypad sounded the alarm of an intruder. For a moment I debated whether to hide and try to go unnoticed or to continue my process with the machine. Being discovered meant getting the boot. If I just ran and hid behind the presentation desk then I could possibly stay in the lab all night. I needed all night. In the end, I think it was my hypnotic state with the monitor that prevented me from even stirring. The security guard entered and I didn't even flinch.
He stared for a while, like he didn't notice me, and then he asked the question: "Good evening ma'am, do you have a late pass tonight?" Play ignorant, I told myself. "A late pass?" He proceeded to explain the theory of the late pass which I was grateful for because it bought me more time. In the end, I had to tell him that no, I didn't have a late pass, yes, I just realized that it was an hour past curfew, and okay, I guess I can be done for the night.
With that, he took down my i-number, radioed down to "base" as he called them, and proceed to escort me out of the building. Steffer was there too. We were criminals together. The cookie bribe didn't work. Apparently the security guards aren't mid-night snackers.
And that was that. I have my first after-hours warning. It's fun. But, I did get all my projects done (except for my site). My hosting server was down all night and most of today so I didn't have to turn my site in. That was a miracle. I never even thought to pray for it to be down because I didn't think it was a possibility but obviously someone in my class has a lot of faith. That, or mad hacker skills. Either way, I was saved.
I pulled a 7:30am to 12:30am and 6am to now. Not to mention the previous days. I honestly love it though. It's been a long, yet short week. And tomorrow it's off to Salt Lake. I need sleep!
Have a great day :)

Oh KyooYoo... you have such an interesting life... and i didn't even get to be a part of it yesterday. Sad day... so, you missed the superbness of 24 tonight... where did you go anyway? And i can't believe you're leaving me this weekend! We planned this bonfire! It's out last weekend together!!!! I'm just hurt, that's all. I'm hurt, and offended... and, and... hurt!
So, i just checked out your website, it's pretty sweet! Altho, i'm pretty sure Josh isn't the only album you listen to all the way thru. What about ace of base and *N Sync?
I know, it hurts me to leave you on our last weekend. But, we still have next week! And Sunday night. It will still make for memorable fun. Trust me. Oh, and we really need to find some place to live next fall. I probably should find summer housing too, considering that is only two weeks away.
You are my hero.
