Kyoo 64

This post is more light-hearted than the last one. But the last one should be read too. Probably first. Read it first, mentally chew on it, and then laugh at me through this one.

Last Saturday was the perfect day! Blue skies, mountains, warmer weather, and great friends. Steffer and Sidekick and I went to Weber Creek to hike the day away. At the trail head, there was only one other car so we were pretty excited to find that we had the whole wilderness almost to ourselves.

The day progressed normally, we took crazy pictures, enjoyed being in the mountains, and ate a lunch. It was after lunch that the craziest thing happened.

I was getting warm. And I had my trademark spandex beneath my hiking pants. So, I decided to remove this outer layer and reveal the "tight" layer beneath. As I was thus engaged, in the middle of the trail, who should appear around yonder corner but the ONE, SINGLE soul that we were sharing the trail with that day! That's right, the lone trekker decided to round the bend right as Kyooyoo pulled the pants off.

I didn't take the time to ingrain his expression in my mind but I think he was trying to be polite. He sure did move past us pretty quickly. That's just my luck. For the rest of the almost 8 hour hike we didn't see another soul.

Just picture it. Unless picturing me in spandex is too hot for you.

It was a great day nonetheless. I got to have a real conversation with two cows with crazy-looking bed hair. And I got to go to a pretty awesome concert. I would have enjoyed the concert a lot more if I hadn't been so dang thirsty. That was the first concert I'd ever been to that didn't have an intermission. I was dying and the thing would just never end! I would have gotten up to leave but Sidekick and I were squashed in between two couples who were heavily engrossed in...................stuff.

And I got a lab done.

Have a great day :)
