Yoo 388 - Olympic Motivation

I've mentioned a time or two that I love the Olympics. Nay has one night passed since they began that I have not been glued to prime time TV. Like one of my good friends said, "The Olympics: where I celebrate athleticism by watching TV for two weeks straight."

Elizabeth, I couldn't have said it better myself! Unless I added "...and eating junk food...".

As much as I love the Olympics, it pains me to admit I'll probably definitely never get to go. As an athlete at least. There's always that possibility that I'll get really good at some obscure sport while simultaneously being granted dual citizenship in some obscure country that still sends athletes to the games (let me fantasize!). But we can be realistic about my Olympic dreams. I guess.

Still, there's something understandably inspiring about watching some of the world's best and most beautiful athletes giving it their all and making incredible feats look effortlessly easy.

It motivates me in weird ways. Gets me all fired up and competitive with the mundane tasks in my life. Like everything I do is suddenly an Olympic sport.

The announcers play in my head:

"Just how many dishes can she do during this commercial break?? She's expertly sporting both the sponge AND the scrubber...what technique! Rare talent we're seeing here folks. Those dirty dishes are just disappearing!!"

"And now, in the dash to take out the trash. Will she make it back before the water boils over on the stove?? She's putting in a good effort! Ohhhh the heartbreaker! North trash can is full!! She's madly sprinting to the East can!"

"Here in the bike commute, we have Kyoo returning. Now Kyoo is aiming to make it up this final hill on the highest gear and with only 20 pedal strokes....she's on 7 and still looking very strong!"

"Welcome tonight to Olympic teeth-brushing!"

It doesn't exercise much more than my imagination but it's sure fun and I'm earning medals left and right as my house gets cleaner and I get to work earlier and the Gregdude gets moved in...one commercial break at a time.

And now, some more wedding photos, before we part ways.

Have a great day :-)
